Who am I?
I’m Federica Velutini-Hoffmann, the “voice” behind FVH Voice Over! Born in Venezuela, my family and I moved to the US in 1998 and settled in beautiful Vermont. I still call the Green Mountain State home, along with my wonderful mother and three dogs, two giant wolf dogs – Nana and Mina – and their boss: the tiny but formidable Mimi.
Why FVH VO?
One of my fondest memories as a child was snuggling up in bed with my mom while she read to me. She would read everything from the Thousand and One Nights to the classics, as her grandfather has done for her, and soon I felt as though these characters were old friends. As the only child of older parents sometimes I lacked playmates, but my mom showed me early on that I could travel the world, be anyone, within the pages of a book.
My other great love is the theater, watching musicals and operas with my father since I was a toddler, and my background in plays, musicals and opera was the perfect place to realize just how powerful a voice can be, how many multitudes can be contained in that sound. Voices can soothe, excite, inspire trust, and transport us.
I stayed an unabashed bibliophile throughout my life, and rediscovered the power of audiobooks after a Traumatic Brain Injury that left me blind and unable to read for over a year. Audiobooks became my refuge and a source of hope and it is my honor now to bring that gift to others through the marriage of these two great loves.
My hope is to make your words come alive the way my mother’s stories did. To bring the passion and versatility of theater to the endless possibilities of the written word. My work in the social services and medical services, fluency in several languages, as well as degrees in history, archaeology, art and translation, give me vast technical knowledge to draw from, so whether it’s audiobooks or commercials, corporate/medical narrations or animation I can fill your needs with warmth, authenticity and versatility.
Let’s create some magic together!
